Associate Director of Community Engagement
Heather Carrie serves as an integrative health and medicine (IHM) professional dedicated to increasing access to care while fostering therapeutic cooperation among the health professions. With a life-long commitment to both education and holistic health she enthusiastically supports the success of IHM practitioners and students through advocacy and engagement. As a researcher, her interests include health equity, global affairs and public policy issues. As a trained mediator, she works with groups to resolve conflict and rebuild relationships with a focus on healing among healers.
She earned her BA in Law and Policy with a dual concentration in Health Policy and in Healthcare Leadership from the University of Washington, and her Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Health Policy and Law from a joint degree program with the University of California, San Diego’s School of Medicine and the California Western School of Law. She also earned a Certificate in Integrative Health Administration from the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM) and completed mediation training with California Western School of Law and with the Dispute Resolution Center of King County in Washington State. Heather enjoys life as an outdoor recreation enthusiast, gardener and musician living in the Pacific Northwest.
